About Chan's
Chan's Fine Oriental Dining has
become an institution in Rhode Island, offering fine Oriental
dining along with some of the finest jazz, blues and other
musical offerings in the country.
Chan's introduced Woonsocket to its unique
oriental delicacies in 1905. In 1965, Ben F. Chan
purchased the then New Shanghai Restaurant and nine years later
the Chan family refurbished the original dining area, changing
the name to Chan's Fine Oriental Dining. In 1986, we had the
opportunity to double our restaurant size to offer jazz, blues,
folk, cabaret, and comedy performances to our customers.
Since then, Chan's has played host to many of the finest local
and international artists and has earned a reputation as one of the
premier jazz and blues clubs in the country.
